Listen to the Elders

We need to listen to our Elders before it is too late Silence is the lie of the good man or the coward. It is seeing something you don't like and not speaking. They say that perhaps it is not by love, but by blood, that land is bought. They say that perhaps my people had to die to nourish this earth with their truth. Your people did not have ears to hear. Perhaps we had to return to the earth so that we could grow within your hearts. Perhaps we have come back and will fill the hills and valleys with our song. My people have done well. You have tried to take everything away from us, but we have survived. We have lived with you pushing against us for five hundred years. We will live with you pushing against us for five hundred more. There are spirits to help you. There are spirits to help us all. If only your people would learn to listen to them, to go into the sunlight and give thanks for the day, they would find them. Then they would not be so quick to do harm, or so able to rest at night when they spent the day working only for themselves. The earth is deep, and its knowledge is great. Listen to the stones, and listen to the wind. Do what you must do to find the voices that will speak to you. They are there. They are calling. Do what you must do to find them, and share their words. |

Sharon,
I saw your blog pop up. I think of you often. Good and important words you share with us here.
Many of us at Gaia are participating in what is known as the 9:09 Gaia Minute. It is 9 mins of meditation, contemplation or prayer for the harmonizing of humanity with our Mother Earth, Gaia. Some people realize that the Earth does not need us. Unfortunately, many don't seem to realize how much we need her.
We are sending gratitude to our Mother Earth, Gaia, for giving us the very matter that makes our physical body. We seek harmony with all of Gaia's many beings - both sentient and non-sentient. A member of Gaia, Eli, was inspired to initiate this effort; and it is his understanding that many energies need to combine simultaneously, for a long period of time, at least 9 months of daily effort. I have committed to twice a day, and if I miss my time zone, I join in the next or the next, knowing someone else is praying along with me.
There is also a Monday morning 9:09 (Mountain time) Gaia Minute guided meditation / conference call; where we are all connecting our energies and it is intense and amazing. Anyone who wishes can join in this weekly call. The telephone # is 1 (218) 862 1300, you will be prompted for the Conference Code, which is 855 676.
I apologize for taking so much space on your blog to talk about this. Your words “return to the earth, so that we could grow within” caught my attention and sent me down this path. Perhaps, the elders are growing in our hearts, as we do the 9:09 Gaia Minute together. Our interests would seem to be aligned.
I resonate deeply with this - “The earth is deep, and it's knowledge is great. Listen to the stones, and listen to the wind… . share their words.”
Love you.
Peace & Blessings -
Deb
soo lovely to visit your blog again dear one!

Yes the pain has been great to the Native Indians…
the solution is compassion…
i actually saw a documentary of how aboriginal people in Australia are facing the same extinction of wisdom
they are lost in dispare and even drugs and intoxicants are taking over them…
THey key i think is for the elders to be strong… and teach their children to be strong…
strength cannot be achieved without believing… one has to have a belief before something grand.. one has to feel important and respected for their contribution… i think that is the key to welcoming our elders wisdom back..
a balance between freedom to explore yet wisdom to return to…
i am actually posting a chapter a day on my blog about living with the titan…
interesting how we chapter 47 says the exact thing..
What Synchronicity !!!!
they came by wagon
spread like a virus
cutting train tracked
scars on the earth
with clattering minds
and desperate hearts
seeking to tame and conquer
anything but themselves
but the roar of rifles
that soaked the land red
could not silence
the voices in the wind
every mountain a monument
to sacred wisdom of truth
the land, she lives on
the old ones still teach
the warriors that fight
the battles that are within
Mother and her children
are one
I am the white devil
I am the brave chief
I am the river of tears
that flows to the sea
I can stop pushing
and start embracing
I can stop running
and walk in sacred beauty
allowing the eagle
to take my soul
to the land where I die
to the great mystery
where I am born again
Dear Deb,Anna,Janak,and David,
Thank you all for your wise and beautiful words..
You are all so amazing and I love you all
May you all be blessed with all things beautiful and may you always walk in sacred beauty
